Scott Alexander Memorial Scholarship
Our Mission
Scott was a lifelong resident of Shaler, who played soccer for Shaler Area High School & volunteered his time coaching in the community. In March 2007 Scott was diagnosed with a brain tumor & 22 days later he lost his battle with cancer. He left behind a wife, Kris, & two young daughters, Samantha & Caroline, as well as a great number of family & friends that loved him dearly.
This scholarship has been established in his name & his memory, to allow the spirit of Scott to live on. The scholarship is awarded each year to a Shaler Area Senior who meets the following criteria:
- Must letter senior year in either varsity Track, Soccer, or Tennis
- Must be active in the community & be a well-rounded individual
- Must provide 3 letters of recommendation: 1 each from a teacher, a coach, and a supervisor where the student does volunteer work
We have been able to award over $45,000 in scholarships to Shaler Area seniors as well as soccer, tennis, and track programs since the Scott Alexander Scholarship has been established.
